Winner - 12 Ore di Pescara - Hawthorn/Maglioli Art Model item 094 |
|
This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Art Model of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Art Model item number 094. This is a finely detailed model of the Pininfarina bodied Ferrari 375 MM Berlinetta chassis number 0320AM. This car started life as a 340 MM but was re-engined to 375 specifications after its first race outing at Le Mans in 1953. It was entered by Scuderia Ferrari in the Spa 24 Hour race but had a dnf, but made up for it at the Pescara 12 hour where it was driven to victory by Umberto Maglioli and Mike Hawthorn. It was sold to Cornacchia after this race and went on to run in the Carrera Panamericana before being sold to various owners in the US. This model features accurate photo etched wire wheels with spun aluminium rims, knock off hubs and correct profile race tyres. The Ferrari red body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately. Other features include aero screens, filler caps, door handles, photo etched triple windscreen wipers, photo etched bonnet catches and grilles plus all the correct badges, vents and race markings. The underside features some mechanical details and exhaust system. The interior is also beautifully done, with woodrim steering wheel with photo etched spokes and Ferrari horn button, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel with all controls and other features shown, gearshift lever, bucket seats, rear view mirror and fully detailed door trims with handles, winders and door pulls. This is a truly magnificent model of one of the all time classic racing Ferrari berlinettas. Art Model items come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |
