Ferrari 250P/275P
Reims 1963 - Mike Parkes
Art Model item 122

This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Art Model of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Art Model item number 122.

This model represents the last of the four 250P's made, chassis number 0816. Its first outing for Scuderia Ferrari was at Reims for the French Grand Prix of 1963. Mike Parkes was the pilot and the Ferrari was the favourite for the event, setting a fast time of 2:25.5 (an average of 209 kmh) to take pole position. Unfortunately he blew a clutch in the race and retired. In 1964 the car was fitted with the 3,300cc engine (converted to 275P) and went on to win the Le Mans 24 Hour for 1964 in that configuration, driven by Jean Guichet and Nino Vaccarella.

The Art Model 250P is one of the finest models of this classic Ferrari sports racer available in 1:43 scale. They have captured the shape and stance of the vehicle perfectly. Exterior detailing is outstanding, featuring beautiful photo etched wire wheels with spun aluminium rims and correct profile tyres, photo etched windscreen wipers, filler caps, photo etched rear view mirror, bonnet catches and trim pieces, fine photo etched grilles, exhaust system and other underside detail including engine sump and transmission.

Internally it gets even better, with proper coloured race seats, fully detailed dashboard with all instruments and switches, three spoke metal steering wheel with wood rim and Ferrari badge, chassis tube detail, fire extinguisher and even a proper gated gearshift. A tribute to the Italian modelmaking art and a must for the serious Ferrari collection.

Art Model items come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.
