Marathon de la Route 1966 #55 Lucien Bianchi/Eric de Keyn Best Model item 9280 |
|
This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Best Model of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Best Model item number 9280. This is a model of Ferrai 275 GTB Competizione chassis number 9027GT. It was originally owned and raced by Jaques Swaters' Ecurie Francorchamps team. Its first race outing was at the Le Mans 24 Hour in 1966, where it was driven to tenth outright and second in class by Claude Dubois and Pierre Noblet (race number 57). Later in June that year it won the Mont Ventoux Hillclimb at the hands of Lucien Bianchi. Ecurie Francorchamps then entered the car in the Marathon de la Route, once again to be driven by Lucien Bianchi, this time partnered with Eric de Keyn. Unfortunately they failed to finish due to an accident while being driven by de Keyn. This model features fine photo etched wire wheels with alloy rims, knock off hubs and correct profile race tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately. Other features include rear view mirrors, photo etched wipers, photo etched grilles, driving lights plus all the correct badges, vents and race markings. The interior is also beautifully done, with steering wheel, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel with all controls and other features shown, gearshift lever, race seats and many more details. Best Model items come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |
