This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Best Model of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Best Model item number 9282.

The Ferrari 512 BB LM was the lightweight race version of the 512BB road car, and only 25 examples were made between 1979 and 1982. It was powered by the five litre flat twelve Ferrari engine which produced a respectable output of 480 bhp in race trim. This model represents chassis number 26683. The Daytona 24 Hour was the opening round of the 1979 World Championship for Sports Cars, and the North American Race Team (N.A.R.T.) entered the BB LM in the event. Drivers were Bob Tullius, Jean-Pierre Delaunay and Pat Bedard. They retired on lap 72 after an accident.

This model features accurate cast alloy wheels and correct profile race tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately. Other features include rear view mirrors, photo etched wipers, photo etched grilles, rear spoiler, photo etched panel catches, tow points plus all the correct badges, vents and race markings.

The interior is also beautifully done, with steering wheel, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel with all controls and other features shown, gearshift lever, race seat and harness, roll cage, window net, fire extinguisher, chassis tube details and a fully detailed engine visible through the rear window including lots of plumbing and wiring detail. The underside is also well detailed with engine, transmission, suspension and chassis details as well as a full exhaust system.

Best Model items come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.
