#1 Shikiba Soukichi Ebbro item 43725 |
|
This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Ebbro of Japan, brand new in original packaging, Ebbro item number 43725. The Japanese Grand Prix in the mid sixties was a sports car event which was a battlefield between Prince/Nissan, Porsche and Toyota. In 1964 the event was held over 1,000 kilometres at Suzuka and was won by the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS (chassis number 904 070) driven by Shikiba Soukichi. The 904 featured a fibreglass body bonded to its steel chassis, and the quad cam Carrera flat four engine, highly tuned to give around 180 bhp in race trim for a top speed of 160 mph. This model features accurate race wheels with correct profile race tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately. Other features include windscreen wiper, rear view mirrors, filler caps, exhaust system plus all the correct race markings, vents and grilles. There is also engine detail visible through the fine photo etched rear grille. The interior is also very well done, with woodrim steering wheel, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel, gearshift and handbrake lever, proper bucket style race seats and race harness. This is a beautifully detailed model and is sure to satisfy the most demanding collectors. Ebbro models are amongst the finest 1:43 scale models of their type available. Detail and finish are absolutely top class and second to none in this price range. All are limited editions, this item being one of only 3000 pieces originally produced for worldwide distribution. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |
