This is a new release collectors model in 1:43 scale by Ebbro of Japan, brand new in original packaging, Ebbro item number 43741.

While the 1969 Le Mans 24 Hour saw the debut in that race of the Porsche 917's, Porsche System Engineering wisely ran a backup team of long tailed 908 coupes in the event as well. These 3 litre flat eight powered coupes were well tested and suited to long distance events, important as the 917 was still in its early development. At the end of the 24 Hours the #64 908 of Hans Herrmann and Gérard Larrousse was in second place only 120 metres behind the winning Ford GT40 of Jacky Ickx. The #23 Porsche of Udo Schütz and Gerhard Mitter was eliminated in an accident on lap 199.

This model features accurate cast alloy wheels with correct profile Dunlop race tyres and brake discs and calipers fitted to all four wheels. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately. Other features include windscreen wiper, rear view mirrors, filler caps, rear spoiler, tow points, exhaust system plus all the correct race markings, vents, spoilers and grilles. Underneath is also well detailed with chassis details, engine and transmission, rear suspension and exhaust system.

The interior is also very well done, with race steering wheel, race seat and harness, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel, gearshift lever, fire extinguisher, air vents, full roll cage, lots of plumbing and wiring detail and other race related details. There is also lots of engine detail visible through the rear window. This is an exceptional model of the Porsche 908 with amazing detail and one of the finest examples produced to date.
