This is a new release collectors model in 1:43 scale by Ebbro of Japan, brand new in original packaging, Ebbro item number 43750.

The Porsche 917 was a development of the 908 series but powered by the 4.5 litre flat twelve engine. The first 25 examples were built for homologation early in 1969, and Porsche System Engineering entered two of the long tailed coupes in the Le Mans 24 Hour. Drivers were Vic Elford and Richard Attwood in the #12 car and Rolf Stommelen and Kurt Ahrens in the #14 car. They were fastest in practice with Stommelen putting his #14 car on pole. They also led the early part of the race convincingly, Vic Elford running the fastest lap of the event in the #12 car, however, mechanical ailments forced their early retirement.

This model features accurate cast alloy wheels with correct profile Dunlop race tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately. Other features include windscreen wiper, rear view mirrors, filler caps, rear spoiler, tow points, exhaust system plus all the correct race markings, vents, spoilers and grilles. Underneath is also well detailed with chassis details, engine and transmission, rear suspension and exhaust system.

The interior is also very well done, with race steering wheel, race seat and harness, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel, gearshift lever, fire extinguisher, air vents, full roll cage, lots of plumbing and wiring detail and other race related details. There is also lots of engine detail visible through the rear window. This is an exceptional model of the Porsche 917 with amazing detail and one of the finest examples produced to date.
