This is a new release collectors model in 1:43 scale by Ebbro of Japan, brand new in original packaging, Ebbro item number 43883. Toyota Team Tom's had a single entry in the 2006 Super GT series, the new Lexus SC430 Coupe in the GT500 class. The Lexus was driven by Juichi Wakisaka and Andre Lotterer. The opening round of the year at Suzuka was an omen, with the Tom's Lexus winning on its first outing. Wakisaka and Lotterer finished consistently through the rest of the season to win with a single point margin. Their Open Interface Tom's SC430 is based on the Lexus SC430 and uses the 4.5 litre 32 valve Toyota V8, producing around 480 bhp and driving through an Ogura clutch and six speed sequential transmission. Engines are tuned and maintained by Toyota Technocraft. Double wishbone suspension is used all round and the Bridgestone Potenza race tyres are mounted to 18" Enkie wheels. This model features accurate Enkie cast alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza race tyres and full brake detail with both brake discs and AP Racing calipers (the brand name is even printed on the calipers!), and a nicely modelled body finished in an authentic colour scheme that captures the shape and stance of the original car perfectly. Other features include finely moulded window frames, windscreen wipers, external rear view mirrors, rear spoiler, radio aerial, tow points and all correct external race logos and badges. The interior is also very well done, with steering wheel and column switches, detailed dashboard and instrument panel with all controls and other features shown, rear view mirror, centre console with gearshift lever and handbrake, Recaro race seat and Takata race harness, roll cage, fire extinguisher, plus other race related details. Ebbro models are amongst the finest 1:43 scale models of their type available. Detail and finish are absolutely top class and second to none in this price range. All are limited editions, this item particularly rare being one of only 3000 pieces originally produced for worldwide distribution. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |
