1970 - Blue Ixo French Classics Collection |

This is a collectors model, diecast metal in 1:43 scale by IXO, brand new in original packaging. The Renault 12 was released in 1968 and was very well received by the motoring press and buyers worldwide. It was very different from previous medium sized Renaults, now front engined and front wheel drive. The engine was derived from that of the 8/10 series, but was now 1300cc and mounted longitudionally ahead of the front wheels. While a similar layout to the larger 16 model, it differed in many ways including having a floor mounted central gearshift and a beam rear axle. This 1:43 scale model features accurate wheels with plated hubcaps and correct profile tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately with accurate colour scheme and all correct markings and decals. Other features include fine windscreen wipers, rear view mirrors, plated bumpers, fine window frames, air vents, exhaust system plus all the correct badges and decals. The interior is also very well done, with steering wheel and column switches, gearshift and handbrake, detailed dashboard and instrument panel, detailed door trims and correctly contoured and coloured seats. The model comes mounted on a black plastic plinth with a clear plastic display box. This item is brand new in original packaging. |
