1951 World Champion - Juan Manuel Fangio Revival item 86101 |

This is a rare multimedia construction kit in 1:20 scale by Revival of Italy, complete and brand new in original packaging, Revival item number 86101. Alfa Romeo dominated the F1 World Championship for the first two years of its existance with wins by Farina and Fangio. This is the 1951 World Championship winning Type 159 Alfetta of the great Juan Manuel Fangio. For 1951 Alfa Romeo modified their Type 158 F1 car to hold off stiff competition from Ferrari. The new type 159 which was nicknamed the "Alfetta" because of its dimunitive size, featured a De Dion rear axle and more power due to the use of twin stage supercharging. The twin Roots type superchargers allowed the tiny 1500 cc straight eight engine to produce an amazing 425 bhp at 9,300 rpm for a top speed of almost 300 kmh. The Revival kit captures this Alfa beautifully in every detail. The metal body shell parts are pre-painted in authentic Rosso Corsa, and all the other details are there, including diecast metal parts for the chassis, engine, some suspension components plus numerous metal screws, springs, rods and other miscellaneous parts. Other parts are made out of plastic, rubber and other materials where appropriate to enable an accurate model to be constructed with minute detail. The wheels and tyres are particularly good, with accurate Pirelli race tyre pattern on the rubber tyres plus the very best pre-constructed wire wheels you will ever see. These wheels are all metal and pre-assembled by Revival with a patented process, the spokes are very fine and to scale and the metal hubs and rims are very realistic - together these wheels and tyres really finish these models off beautifully. Revival construction kits are predominantly diecast metal and are only produced in limited quantities. The main body shell parts are metal and also pre-painted in the correct colours. All other parts require painting and finishing as with any kit. These are collectors items and are recommended for serious modellers. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |

Revival Revival is a long established Italian company that produces a fine range of multimedia construction kits in 1:20 scale. Revival was the sucessor to the original Casadio kits produced in Italy in the sixties and seventies. Their range covers classic Grand Prix and Formula 1 vehicles from the Edwardian era to the sixties. These are advanced kits and are predominantly made from diecast metal. The metal bodyshells are pre-painted in authentic colours, all other parts require finishing and painting as in all kits of this type. Other parts are from plastics, rubbers, resins, machined metal or diecast metal as appropriate. Much of the construction is by screws or nuts and bolts. These kits are limited production high quality replicas, produced entirely by artisans at the Revival factory in Minerbio (Bolgna) Italy. These models collectors items and are not toys. |
