This is a rare multimedia construction kit in 1:20 scale by Revival of Italy, complete and brand new in original packaging, Revival item number 88101.

In 1957 Juan Manuel Fangio changed teams once again and drove for Maserati. By the start of the 1957 season he had won four World Championships, with Alfa Romeo in 1951, Mercedes Benz in 1954 and 1955, and Ferrari in 1956.

The Maserati 250F was very refined by 1957, and it suited Fangio's driving style perfectly. He went on to dominate the season, culminating in a win at the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring which is considered to be his best ever result.

At the halfway point the Ferraris of Colins and Hawthorn were in the lead by around a minute, but Fangio reeled off lap record after lap record to win back the lead and tak eout the event. He had fastest qualifying time and set a new lap record of 9:17.4 and of course put himself in an unbeatable position to win his fifth World Championship.

The Maserati 250F used the 2.5 litre straight six engine with triple Weber carburettors giving some 270 bhp. Weighing only 630 kg the 250F was capable of almost 300 kmh top speed.

The Revival kit captures this Maserati beautifully in every detail. The metal body shell parts are pre-painted in authentic Rosso Corsa, and all the other details are there, including diecast metal parts for the chassis, engine, some suspension components plus numerous metal screws, springs, rods and other miscellaneous parts. Other parts are made out of plastic, rubber and other materials where appropriate to enable an accurate model to be constructed with minute detail.

The wheels and tyres are particularly good, with accurate Pirelli race tyre pattern on the rubber tyres plus the very best pre-constructed wire wheels you will ever see. These wheels are all metal and pre-assembled by Revival with a patented process, the spokes are very fine and to scale and the metal hubs and rims are very realistic - together these wheels and tyres really finish these models off beautifully.

Revival construction kits are predominantly diecast metal and are only produced in limited quantities. The main body shell parts are metal and also pre-painted in the correct colours. All other parts require painting and finishing as with any kit. These are collectors items and are recommended for serious modellers. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.
