This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Rio of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Rio item number 4064P.

This "Grande Mercedes" was released in 1938 and featured many improvements over the earlier models. The chassis was now of tubular construction, and suspension was by coil springs on all four corners (all accurately represented in this model). The car was propelled by a 7.7 litre straight eight engine, giving 155 bhp normally aspirated or an impressive 230 bhp when supercharged. Gearbox was a five speed manual and the three and a half ton machine rode on 8.25 x 17 inch wheels. Overall length was 6 metres.

This is a finely detailed model of the Mercedes Benz 770 K open limousine of 1942. Finished in gleaming black paint, it is an impressive model of this classic Mercedes. This is the "Parade Car" version and features two figures, the driver and the saluting passenger (who is of course the infamous German dictator), plus state flags and other accessories that were used in this particular version. This new version of the Mercedes is better than Rio's older issues as it has received lots of extra detailing and photo etched parts, a much nicer model than the earlier versions.

The model features finely detailed wheels with plated hubcaps and rubber tyres, fully detailed interior with proper shaped seats (all three rows), uniformed driver figure and uniformed saluting passenger standing in the rear, front flagpoles with photo etched detailed state flags, beautifully detailed dashboard, instrument panel and steering wheel. External details include accurate plated bumpers and trim pieces, bumper mounted driving lights, plus many fine photo etchings for the Mercedes badge and trim pieces. The two running board mounted spare wheels are there, and the bonnet can be removed to reveal engine detail. Underneath the model is also detailed, with chassis rails, engine, transmission, rear and front axles, fuel tank and full exhaust system all represented. The four wheel coil spring suspension is also faithfully represented with working coil springs and moveable axles. A magnificent piece to complete your Mercedes collection!

Rio models come on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.
