1960 - Funeral Car - Hearse Rio item 4137 |

This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Rio of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Rio item number 4137. The Mercedes Benz 300 series was very popular in Europe in the sixties, offering comfortable and reliable transport in the upper class range. It was powered by the inline six with 175 bhp, and featured conventional body on chassis construction. This made it suitable for converting to special coachwork and many variations appeared including this hearse with special bodywork. This Rio model features accurate wheels with plated hubcaps, white walls and correct profile tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned, finished in gloss black and depicts the original car very accurately. There are also photo etched windscreen wipers and lots of other plated parts such as grilles, trims, door handles, hand rails and so on. The interior features include steering wheel, seats, detailed dashboard and rear load area. Rio models come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |

Rio Rio is a range produced by the Italian company M4, who also manufacture Art Model and Best Model. The original family company has only recently been aquired by M4 and they are in the process of re-issuing some of the older items with improved detailing. The Rio range covers a very diverse series of vehicles from the 1900' s to the last few decades. The models are made in diecast metal with many other materials included for detailing, such as plastics, rubber and fine photo etchings on most items. They are individually hand assembled and finished in the M4 factory in Pesaro, Italy. These models collectors items and are not toys. |
