This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Rio of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Rio item number 4188. The Citroen ID 19 made its first successful foray into international rallying with its decisive win of the Monte Carlo Rally in 1959. The Citroen was driven by Paul Coltelloni and crewed by Pierre Alexandre and Claude Derosiers. This Rio model features accurate steel wheels with proper profile tyres, and a nicely modelled body finished in original colours that captures the shape and stance of the original car perfectly. Other features include plated window frames and door handles, photo etched windscreen wipers, plated trims and bumpers, driving lights, grilles and all correct external markings and badges. The interior is also very well done, with the signature single spoke steering wheel and column switches, detailed dashboard and instrument panel with all controls and other features shown, gearshift lever, rear view mirror and proper contoured and coloured seats. Rio models are made in diecast metal and are all 1:43 scale. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging. |

Rio Rio is a range produced by the Italian company M4, who also manufacture Art Model and Best Model. The original family company has only recently been aquired by M4 and they are in the process of re-issuing some of the older items with improved detailing. The Rio range covers a very diverse series of vehicles from the 1900' s to the last few decades. The models are made in diecast metal with many other materials included for detailing, such as plastics, rubber and fine photo etchings on most items. They are individually hand assembled and finished in the M4 factory in Pesaro, Italy. These models collectors items and are not toys. |
